David Iwashita, co-founder of Naturally Affordable Housing, LLC, grew up in San Diego where he’s gained over 21 years of comprehensive experience in real estate encompassing financial analysis, entitlements, project planning, financing procurement, management, and ongoing asset oversight. Having evaluated real estate projects worth over a billion dollars and directed the funding of projects exceeding 300 million dollars, his primary focus lies on naturally affordable rental units as a response to the housing crisis. His commitment to balanced community well-being, blending amenities and housing to sustain the regional economy, is deeply rooted in his family’s history of displacement from post-World War II internment camps in prior Redevelopment Areas. Fueled by his dedication to community and sustainable development practices, he aspires to leave a positive impact on current and future generations’ quality of life.

John O’Connor is a San Diego native who continues a family legacy of entrepreneurship community advocacy and volunteerism resulting in a symbiotic relationship with real estate professionals, community leaders and politicians. He has an educational background in organizational leadership with expertise in both public and private partnerships and high level negotiations.
John has been recognized for his ability to manage complex day-to-day operations while maintaining relationships and growing strategic initiatives. He is well versed in presentations, accustomed to addressing clients, vendors, partners, shareholders and corporate board of directors, John has been invited as a guest speaker and/or panelist by organizations such as Civic San Diego, Urban Land Institute and Business Improvement District Alliance to name a few. John’s ability to focus energies, collaborate with developers, politicians, and community groups, and execute ideas and plans have set him apart as a valuable development partner and community influencer. As a real estate investor, entrepreneur, and patriarch of his family, John has become an expert at multitasking, prioritizing, and communicating clearly, succinctly and timely. His special talent is maintaining efficiencies and keeping teams and projects focused and on course.
John currently serves as President of El Cajon Blvd Business Improvement Association and chairman of the economic development arm which represents over 1000 businesses and oversees countless developments in North Park, Normal and City Heights. He was also an active participant in the recent North Park community plan update and successfully advocated for higher densities in key areas to help with San Diego’s housing crisis and climate action plan.

At Pacifica, PJ underwrote and managed a diverse portfolio valued at approximately $300 million and has directed multiple projects from conception to completion. Notably a 130,000 SF credit anchored shopping center in PA.

Max conducts commercial and multi-residential market analysis on mid-to-large scale housing projects, negotiates and manages purchase agreements, offers financing solutions, creates proformas, prepares disclosures and community engagement plans, and engages in strategic planning.

Max is a meticulous, proactive, results-driven team player focused on a career in environmentally focused affordable and workforce housing. He also served as a panelist at the Global Compassion Summit alongside the Dalai Lama and believes housing is a basic human right.

Nick is a recent graduate from San Diego State earning a Bachelor’s degree in Finance with a minor in Real Estate where he was a member of the real estate society.
Beginning as an intern, he worked his way into a full time role. His work consists of underwriting, acquisitions, financial feasibility analysis, as well as construction budgeting and accounting.
